The triceps muscle has three heads:
Long head: Attaches to the scapula (shoulder blade) and not the upper arm bone (humerus).
Lateral and medial heads: Attaches to the humerus.
All three heads merge into a common tendon that connects to the olecranon process of the ulna, with their main function being elbow extension.
Over time, repetitive "wear and tear" in the gym can lead to scar tissue (fascial adhesions) in the triceps. This scar tissue reduces muscle elasticity, causing the tendon to pull and inflame, leading to triceps tendonitis.
